Get Ford Galaxy / Mondeo S-Max Right Engine Mount FDM-CA2RH in Kenya

The right engine mount, also known as the engine mounting or motor mount, is a crucial component of a vehicles powertrain system. Specifically located on the right side of the engine, it serves several important functions to ensure the smooth operation of the engine and minimize vibrations transmitted to the vehicles chassis.

Benefits;

1. Engine Stability and Support:

• Secure Engine Position: The right engine mount securely holds the engine in place within the vehicles chassis, preventing excessive movement or shifting during acceleration, deceleration, and cornering.
• Supports Engine Weight: It supports the weight of the engine, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability for the vehicle.

2. Vibration and Noise Reduction:

• Vibration Dampening: The right engine mount absorbs and dampens engine vibrations generated during operation, minimizing vibrations felt throughout the vehicle and improving ride comfort.
• Reduced Noise Transmission: By isolating the engine from the chassis, the engine mount reduces the transmission of engine noise and vibrations to the vehicles cabin, resulting in a quieter and more comfortable driving experience.

3. Enhanced Vehicle Performance:

• Improved Powertrain Efficiency: A properly functioning right engine mount helps maintain optimal alignment of the engine and drivetrain components, ensuring efficient power transfer and performance.
• Smooth Operation: By stabilizing the engine and reducing vibrations, the engine mount contributes to smoother engine operation, enhancing overall vehicle performance and drivability.

4. Protection of Components:

• Prevents Component Damage: The right engine mount protects other components, such as the exhaust system, cooling system, and drivetrain, from damage by minimizing engine movement and vibration.
• Longevity of Parts: By reducing stress and strain on engine and chassis components, the engine mount helps extend the lifespan of these parts, reducing the need for premature repairs or replacements.

5. Improved Safety:

• Enhanced Vehicle Stability: A stable and securely mounted engine contributes to overall vehicle stability and control, especially during sudden maneuvers or emergency braking.
• Reduced Driver Fatigue: By minimizing vibrations and noise, the right engine mount helps reduce driver fatigue, allowing for better concentration and awareness while driving.

6. Fuel Efficiency:

• Optimized Engine Performance: The right engine mount ensures that the engine operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
• Consistent Power Delivery: By maintaining proper engine alignment, the engine mount helps ensure consistent power delivery to the wheels, optimizing fuel economy and performance.

Signs a car needs a new one;

1. Excessive Engine Movement:

• Visible Engine Movement: If you observe excessive movement of the engine, particularly during acceleration, deceleration, or when shifting gears, its a clear sign of a failing engine mount.
• Engine Rocking: The engine may rock back and forth or move excessively during starting or stopping, indicating weakened engine mounts.

2. Increased Vibrations and Noise:

• Vibrations in the Cabin: Worn or damaged right engine mounts can lead to increased vibrations felt throughout the vehicle, especially at idle or under acceleration.
• Unusual Engine Noise: Clunking, banging, or thumping noises coming from the engine bay, particularly during acceleration or deceleration, may indicate a loose or worn engine mount.

3. Misaligned Components:

• Misalignment of Engine Components: Failing right engine mounts can cause misalignment of various engine components, such as the exhaust system or driveshafts. Look for signs of abnormal contact or rubbing between components.

4. Excessive Engine Tilting:

• Engine Tilting: When the engine tilts excessively to one side, particularly during hard acceleration or braking, it suggests that the right engine mount is no longer providing sufficient support and stability.

5. Visual Inspection:

• Visible Damage or Wear: Inspect the right engine mount visually for signs of damage, such as cracks, tears, or deterioration in the rubber or metal components.
• Leaking Fluid: Some engine mounts contain hydraulic fluid or liquid-filled chambers. Fluid leakage or signs of fluid seepage indicate a failure of the engine mount.

6. Increased Engine Noise:

• Loud Engine Noise: Worn or failed right engine mounts can lead to increased engine noise inside the cabin, particularly during acceleration or when the engine is under load. This occurs as the mounts are no longer effectively dampening engine vibrations and noise.
