The Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus

The Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus is a high-performance all-season tire that offers excellent dry, wet, and snow traction, making it one of the most versatile options in the ultra-high performance all-season category. Designed for sports cars, performance sedans, coupes, crossovers, and sporty SUVs, this tire delivers confident year-round performance without forcing drivers to switch between seasonal sets. It strikes an outstanding balance between dynamic handling, all-weather safety, and everyday comfort.

At the core of its impressive capabilities are Continentals advanced Tuned Performance Indicators (TPI) and SportPlus Technology. The Tuned Performance Indicators are small visual markers molded into the tread that allow drivers to easily monitor wear levels and performance readiness over time. As the tire wears, these indicators change, helping owners know exactly when its time to consider replacement. SportPlus Technology further enhances overall handling, wet traction, and tread life through optimized compound formulations and internal construction that maintain grip and responsiveness even as mileage accumulates.

The tires sophisticated asymmetric tread pattern features wide circumferential grooves and sweeping lateral notches that rapidly evacuate water, delivering strong resistance to hydroplaning and excellent wet braking performance. In dry conditions, the solid center rib and large shoulder blocks provide sharp steering response, stable cornering, and powerful braking. During winter months, the DWS 06 Plus earns strong marks in light snow and slush thanks to its specialized snow grooves and biting edges, giving drivers reliable all-season versatility.

This tire works particularly well as an EV tire with strong all-weather versatility. Its construction effectively supports the unique demands of electric vehicles, including higher vehicle weight from battery packs and the need for excellent instant torque handling during quick acceleration. The optimized compounds contribute to favorable low rolling resistance, helping improve battery range optimization for electric crossovers and performance EVs. Many owners of Tesla models and other electric vehicles choose the ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus as a capable EV replacement tire that maintains sporty character while providing year-round confidence.

Beyond raw performance numbers, the ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus prioritizes real-world drivability. The refined tread design helps reduce road noise, resulting in a quieter and more comfortable cabin experience during daily commutes and long highway trips. This refinement makes it an appealing choice for enthusiasts who want thrilling handling without the harsh ride often associated with pure summer performance tires.

Whether youre navigating winding mountain roads on a sunny afternoon, driving through heavy rain on the interstate, or dealing with unexpected early-season snow, the DWS 06 Plus adapts seamlessly. Its progressive handling characteristics give drivers clear feedback and predictable behavior, inspiring confidence in a wide variety of conditions. The tire also offers competitive tread life for its high-performance all-season class, providing good long-term value.

Continentals rigorous testing and German engineering heritage shine through in every aspect of the ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus. This tire consistently earns strong reviews from both professional testers and everyday drivers for its ability to bridge the gap between dedicated summer performance tires and traditional all-season options.

For performance vehicle owners who refuse to compromise on handling but still need reliable all-weather capability, the ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus stands out as a premium solution. It is especially well-suited for those transitioning to electric vehicles who want to maintain an engaging driving experience while benefiting from modern efficiency and year-round usability.

Choose the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus when you want a single tire that can genuinely do it all deliver sporty excitement in dry conditions, safety and control in wet weather, capable traction in light snow, and the refined manners expected in todays performance and electric vehicles. Experience the confidence that comes with a tire engineered to perform no matter what the road or season brings.

Replacing stock tires on OEM Tesla wheels

Stock Tesla Tire Replacement and Maintenance
OEM Tesla tires are designed and manufactured to optimize performance, safety, reliability and durability. Naturally, due to normal usage and aging, tires degrade over time from the effects of ultraviolet light, extreme temperatures, loading and environmental exposure. T Sportline recommends replacing OEM Tesla tires exclusively with exact replacements. T Sportline Tesla factory replacement tire listings include, but are not limited to replacement OEM-spec Tesla factory tires.
Recommended Tesla Tire Rotation
T Sportline recommends rotating your tires every 6,250 miles or sooner if tread depth varies between any of the 4 tires by 2/32 in or greater. Aggressive driving or harsh environments can lead to premature tire wear and may require more frequent tire inspection. Unbalanced and misaligned wheels affect ride quality, vehicle handling, tire life and driveline component longevity. Tesla lug nuts are 21mm socket heads and must be torqued to 129 ft-lbs / 175 Nm
Maintaining Proper Tire Pressures on Teslas
T Sportline recommends keeping tires inflated to the pressures shown on the Tesla Tire and Loading Information label, even if it differs from the pressure printed on the tire itself. The Tire and Loading Information label is located midway up on the center door pillar and is visible when the drivers door is open. T Sportline’s recommended Tesla Tire inflator is HERE.

Checking and Adjusting Tesla Tire Pressure

When your Tesla has been stationary and out of direct sunlight for over three hours:

• Remove the tire air valve stem cap (unscrew cap by hand).
• Firmly press a tire pressure gauge onto the valve stem tip to measure pressure (a small amount of air will escape during measurement, which is normal).
• Compare reading to Tesla Tire Pressure specification (found on the Tire and Loading Information label located midway up on the center door pillar, visible only when the drivers door is open), add or remove air to match the recommended pressure. Reduce pressure by pressing the metal pin in the center of the valve. Increase pressure using an appropriate tire inflator pump or compressed air source.
• Re-check pressure using the tire pressure gauge.
• Re-install the valve stem cap (hand tighten)
• Important note: Under-inflation is the most common cause of tire failures and can cause a tire to overheat, resulting in severe tire cracking, tread separation, or blowout, which causes unexpected loss of car control and increased risk of injury. Under-inflation also reduces the car’s range and tire tread life.
• Tesla TPMS sensors require driving for a short period of time before updated pressure readings are recorded accurately. Expect TPMS readings to reflect accurate tire pressure readings after driving 5 miles.

Factors impacting tire pressure readings:

• Ambient temperature – Air pressure increases in heat and decreases in cold.
• Tire temperature Tires warm up during use.
• Sunlight directly sunlight will increase tire temperature and thereby tire pressure.
