How It Compares to Other Spark Plugs

Conventional Spark Plugs

• Material: Made of nickel or copper, less durable than iridium.
• Lifespan: Typically lasts 20,000 to 30,000 kilometers.
• Performance: Requires higher voltage for ignition and delivers less consistent performance.

Platinum Spark Plugs

• Material: Platinum is more durable than nickel but less so than iridium.
• Lifespan: Approximately 60,000 to 80,000 kilometers.
• Performance: More efficient than conventional plugs but lacks the precision of iridium plugs.

Iridium Spark Plugs (Competitor Brands)

• While other iridium spark plugs offer high performance, Densos ultra-fine 0.4 mm electrode and U-Groove technology set it apart in terms of efficiency and longevity.

Signs Its Time to Replace Your Spark Plugs

1. Reduced Fuel Efficiency:
A sudden drop in mileage can indicate worn or failing spark plugs.
2. Engine Misfires:
Irregular engine operation, especially during acceleration, can result from weak sparks.
3. Rough Idling:
If the engine vibrates excessively at idle, the spark plugs may not be functioning correctly.
4. Difficulty Starting:
Worn plugs may require more voltage, making it harder to start the engine.
5. Poor Acceleration:
Lack of responsiveness or sluggishness when pressing the accelerator could signal worn spark plugs.

Maintenance Tips for the Denso Iridium Tough Spark Plug

1. Regular Inspection:
Check the spark plugs every 20,000 to 30,000 kilometers to ensure optimal performance.
2. Clean as Necessary:
If carbon deposits accumulate, clean the plugs with a non-abrasive cleaner to restore efficiency.
3. Use Proper Tools:
Always use a spark plug socket wrench to avoid damaging the plug during installation or removal.
4. Check the Gap:
Ensure the spark plug gap is set to the manufacturers specifications for your vehicle.
5. Replace When Worn:
Even though the Denso Iridium Tough Spark Plug has a long lifespan, replace it as recommended to maintain performance.
6. Use Compatible Parts:
Pair the spark plug with compatible ignition coils and wires to prevent misfires and ensure optimal performance.

Steps for Installing a Denso Iridium Tough Spark Plug

1. Gather Tools and Materials:
   • Spark plug socket wrench
   • Torque wrench
   • Anti-seize compound (if recommended)
   • New spark plugs
2. Prepare the Engine:
Allow the engine to cool completely to avoid burns or damage.
3. Remove Old Spark Plugs:
   • Detach the ignition coil or wire connected to the plug.
   • Use the socket wrench to unscrew the old plug carefully.
4. Inspect the Spark Plug Port:
Check for debris or oil and clean if necessary.
5. Install the New Plug:
   • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads if specified.
