The CANchecked BMW E46 3-Series / M3 Multi Function Display – 2.8″ Gen2 (LHD) brings modern data monitoring and motorsport-level functionality to one of BMWs most iconic platforms. Designed specifically for the E46 chassis, this system integrates directly into the factory interior, replacing a dashboard vent with a high-resolution display that delivers real-time access to critical engine and vehicle data.

Unlike traditional gauge solutions, the CANchecked system taps directly into the vehicles CAN Bus network, allowing it to read the same data the ECU processes. This provides faster, more accurate data compared to OBD-based solutions while unlocking a significantly wider range of parameters. The result is a clean OEM+ installation paired with advanced performance monitoring typically reserved for dedicated race displays.

Built around a vibrant 2.8-inch touchscreen display, the system offers multiple configurable pages and layouts similar to a smartphone interface. Drivers can monitor key engine vitals, performance metrics, and diagnostic data in real time while also logging information for later review. Whether used for daily driving, tuning, or track applications, this display delivers the insight needed to better understand and push the limits of the E46 platform.

The CANchecked E46 display is far more than a simple performance meter. By accessing the CAN data stream directly through the vehicle, it opens up a wide range of ECU data channels and presents them in a format that is easy to read, customize, and use. With analog inputs for external sensors, fault code reading and clearing capability, warning functions, and configurable display layouts, this system gives E46 owners a powerful OEM-style solution for both street and performance use.

Vehicle Compatibility & Data Availability

CANchecked products communicate directly with your vehicle via the CAN Bus. As a general guideline, CAN Bus became widely available in production vehicles from approximately 2008 onwards. Compatibility and the amount of available data depend on the vehicle manufacturer, model, model year, installed control units, and software version.

Many modern vehicles provide only limited information through standard OBD diagnostics. For selected vehicles, CANchecked offers dedicated integrations that access additional vehicle data directly from internal vehicle communication networks. Available functions and parameters may vary between vehicles, even within the same model range.

Please note that not all displayed values are intended for diagnostic or safety-critical purposes. While we strive to provide accurate information, displayed data should not be relied upon as the sole source for vehicle operation, diagnostics, maintenance, tuning, or safety-related decisions.

Customers are responsible for verifying compatibility with their specific vehicle before purchase and installation.
